This week was very productive. I countinued carrying out my technology-based project. After analysing the first results I had to make some changes in the project such as changing the deadlines for the WebQuest tasks, drawing students' attention to some rubric points, making discussion questions more specific to check students’ listening
comprehension skills.
At the beginning of the week I read some articles and other participants' posts on learner intelligences. I learnt a lot of theoretical and practical things, how technology could help us to address to different learning styles. It helped me to look at my project and at using technological tools in a new way. I realised that technology offers a lot of opportunities for students with different types of intelligence to learn English most effectively. And we, teachers, should take advantage of it while planning our lessons.
Another thing I worked on was improving my final project report. I'm grateful to Robert and my partner Yubaraj for their useful recommendations which helped me to complete my work. I uploaded the report on our class wiki.
I got the first feedback from my students.I created a post on the classes’ blogs in which I asked them to share their thoughts on the changes that technology had brought to their English lessons and to the process of learning English in general. 94% think positively about the new change and would like to continue using technology for learning English. So, in the future I will definitely keep on using the Internet and computer technologies in my lessons. I have only touched a small part of them and I'm going to try many more things technology offers. I 'm so excited!
Also I answered the questions of the survey related to the course evaluation. I was sincere while giving my answers and I really think this course deserves the highest grade.

Hi Tatsiana,
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you when you say: "I will definitely keep on using the Internet and computer technologies in my lessons." I say so because no one can deny the importance of authentic materials in teaching today. And with the Internet, we have valuable authentic materials at our disposal to help us boost our teaching techniques. In addition to that, the Internet and computer technologies generally call for more interaction between learners, which is a positive step towards greater autonomy for learners.
With regards,
Dagnogo
Hi Tatsiana!!!!
ReplyDeleteTechnology is considered a crucial part of teaching and learning. It can get teachers to provide a sound environment for students in every aspect of learning. Teaching with technology makes teachers to teach with world, and enriches students learning internationally. In this week, we have gone through various articles about learning styles, and also discussed different styles on "Nicenet". In my opinion, Auditory Learning, Visual Learning, and Kinesthetic Learning are great style. These styles of learning enrich students’ creative skills wisely. Final project was a great work for us. We learned a lot about project learning. You have done a good job for making blogger. I like your hard work with students. Great Job Tatsiana!!!!
Thanking You!
Best regards,
Nazeer Ahmed
Hi Tatsiana,
ReplyDeleteI started using the internet in my class before this course and I found it so exciting and rewarding and it gave my classes another shape. Students themselves were very happy with the introduction of this technological tool in their classrooms. This course has come to give a touch of perfection to my use of the internet in class. I feel that my teachings are more professional now and that I am better equipped to address the needs of my learners.
I agree with you that the web will be my best companion in the accomplishment of my work.
I have read some of your Nicenet posts and your contributions are great! I liked what you said about the three classes of the same level that you teach and how different the students are. I have the same situation in my language center and dealing with such situations is very instructive.
Best regards.
Hello Tatsiana ,
ReplyDeleteTime has gone fast. We reached the final projects. I wish you a good luck with your final project. You are right technology could help us address different learning styles. As one type of technology can address many intelligences. This attracts the students and involve them well in the learning process. I agree with you that the teacher should take care of technology before planning his lessons. I myself decided two periods using only technology inside my classroom.

Hi Tatsiana,
ReplyDeletewith interest and joy I had a glance on your blog enty of week 9. In your first paragraph noticed, that had almost the same experience concerning doing changes to the project in being more precise about tasks and deadlines in the web quest. Lesson planning and coming up with ideas was quite easy for me, but being very precise in what and when learners have to hand it in and also leaning on the appropriate rubrics is quite challenging.
By the way, I wanted to let you know, that I very much like picture that welcomes your blog readers - the qellow and blue comic stick figures.
Without words the picture explains what this eTT and your blog is all about.
regards
Brigitte
Dear friends,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your comments and kind words. I'm really feel sad that our course is coming to an end. We have become a great team!
Dear Tatsiana,
ReplyDeleteIt is good to know that you have suggestions from your partner that has helped you edit your project. This is one of the best outcomes of peer working and sharing. I also saw the long constructive feedback Yubaraj had given you. We really work hard this week to reach your final destination i.e. preparing your technology enhanced project. I also agree with you that technology and online tools can greatly help a teacher to meet the different needs of the learners and facilitates their learning styles in teaching English.
Like you I discussed with the learners about the effectiveness of my project based teaching. They confessed they are learning English with fun through the meaningful practices in this innovative technology enhanced project.
I hope your project will go with your class as you have desired.
Regards,
Nahid
